Nancy Cope, Executive Director
Cope holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri and a Master of Arts of Management and Leadership from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She was awarded a Certificate of Nonprofit Management also from Webster University. Cope brings over 20 years of corporate business leadership skills that will greatly enhance and grow the mission of this Habitat for Humanity affiliate. According to Cope, "Habitat for Humanity St. Charles County is one of the most respected organizations and a leader in our community. We will be celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2012 and I am honored to become a part of this organization and work with our volunteers, staff and Board of Directors. I look forward to reaching out to our community for support and continued growth with our mission to unite all people around the cause of decent, affordable housing for everyone".
For the past year, Cope served as Director of Industry Relations for the American Optometric Association where she implemented sponsorship funding activities. Cope has been active on the Board of Directors for Vision Leadership St. Charles and a member of the Professional Advisory Board for Community Living, Inc. in St. Peters.
Previously, she managed and directed all facets of sales and service for e-commerce in the Naturalizer Divison at Brown Shoe Company and was National Sales Manager for Naturalizer , with responsibility for five distribution channels and a multi-million dollar sales budget.
Anita Sandage, Operations Manager
Anita Sandage has been a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County since 1998. Since 2000, Anita has served on the board of directors in various positions including: board member, secretary and vice president. In October 2008, she joined the affiliate in a new capacity as the Office Manager and was recently promoted to Operations Manager in May of 2010. She continues her volunteer work with the affiliate by chairing the Family Selection Committee. Prior to her employment with Habitat, Anita worked in the healthcare field for 19 years as a proposal architect for a healthcare computer company providing software solutions to hospitals. Anita has a BS in Organizational Communications and minor in Marketing, from Missouri State University. In addition to Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County, Anita serves on the board of directors for New Beginnings of St. Charles County; a homeless ministry serving woman and children. Anita resides in Dardenne Prairie with her husband.
Jesse Gibson, Construction Site Supervisor
Lauren Grotegeer, Resource Development Coordinator
Lauren began at Habitat St. Charles in 2010 as the Volunteer Coordinator Intern. She began full time as the Resource Development Coordinator in June 2011. Lauren graduated from Lindenwood University in May 2010 with a B.A. in Nonprofit Administration with an emphasis in Social Services. In 2010, Lauren was a recipient of The Community Service Designation Award for completing over 500 volunteer hours while at Lindenwood. Prior to employment at Habitat, Lauren also interned at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri, and has volunteered with the Boy Scouts of Greater St. Louis, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and Operation Food Search.
Michelle Woods, Family Services Manager
Michelle Woods is the Family Services Manager and comes to Habitat with a Master's Degree in Social Work. She has over 15 years' experience working with children and families in need. Michelle's past experience includes work at the Division of Family Services, serving as a Crisis Counselor for the Orchard Farm School District, and conducting Child Custody and Divorce Mediations.
Andrea Hughes, ReStore Manager
Andrea began her career at HFHSCC in September of 2007 with a daunting challenge - opening HFHSCC's first ever Habitat ReStore. Prior to Habitat, Andrea has been a store manager at Office Max, managed a Pampered Chef operation and was also a manager at Kinko's for several years. Under Andrea's leadership and through her implementation, the Habitat ReStore has diverted 482 tons of waste from local landfills and has raised $338,000 since its inception in January of 2008. Andrea is currently pursuing her Bachelors Degree in Interior Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and is a member of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). Andrea currently resides in Lake St. Louis with her husband 3 children.
