Michael Weeks, President
Michael C. Weeks is an attorney with the law firm of Rudy D. Beck & Associates, P.C. He focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning and elder law. He helps clients through the creation of wills, revocable living trusts, power of attorney documents, health care directives, as well as estate tax planning. Additionally, he is also very active in the areas of Medicaid planning and asset protection against the costs of long-term care, as well as non-Medicaid solutions to long-term care crisis situations and prevention of crisis situations. Mike has been a presenter at several continuing education seminars for other lawyers on elder law issues.
Mr. Weeks is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, and the Missouri Bar. He recently received the Outstanding Chapter Member award for Missouri from NAELA. In addition to his work with Habitat, Mike is a current member of the Board of Directors and President of the Boone Center International Foundation, and the Board of the St. Charles Kiwanis Club.
Nina Pilger, Vice President
Nina Pilger is the President/CEO of 1 st Financial Federal Credit Union. She served as a board member for the credit union, sat on the board for 1 st Financial Federal Credit Union (formerly Aerospace Community Credit Union) for seven years and served as its Vice President before becoming President/CEO in 1984. As the president of a not-for-profit financial cooperative, Nina wears many hats.
It is not uncommon to find Nina building a home for Habitat for Humanity or helping someone in need of financial help. Her kind and compassionate spirit is easy to see in all that she does. Whether working side by side washing cars to raise money for Children's Miracle Network or volunteering for the St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions, she is always the first to lend a hand to someone in need.
Nina has been a leader in the credit union industry and the community for many years. In previous volunteer roles, she has served the St. Louis Chapter of Credit Unions Executive Committee, Missouri Credit Union Association, the Credit Union Management Association, and the operations committee for Midwest ATM Company. Nina also served on the Committee of Managers - Credit Union Lending Systems. As a true leader for the credit union industry, Nina pioneered the concept of Shared Branching in the state of Missouri. As the President of 1 st Financial, she established the first three Credit Union Shared Branch outlets in Missouri. This concept has given many credit unions and their members the convenience of additional branches without additional expenses.
Currently Nina volunteers as a Trustee for the Credit Union Political Action Committee and as a Director of the Missouri Credit Union Association. Since 2004, Nina has been a part of the Credit Union Shared Branch Advisory Committee.
Additionally, Nina is a strong supporter of Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County. Her commitment to HHSCC began in 2005 when she joined the Board of Directors. She is currently the Secretary and Chairperson for the Finance Committee. Nina's role with Habitat exemplifies her support of the credit union philosophy of 'People helping people.'
James Durney, Treasurer
Jim is one of the original volunteers for Habitat for Humanity St. Charles County. Not only did he help build the first house, he and his wife Vicki were board members and actively involved in several committees for fund raising and family nurture. Jim is a past president of the board and currently serves on the board's executive committee.
Jim is a St. Louis, Missouri native. After graduating from St. Mary's High School in south St. Louis, Jim joined the United States Marine Corps for three years. After completing military service in the Marines, Jim was employed by Anheuser-Busch, Inc., while at the same time pursuing his bachelors and masters of science degrees. He increased his level of responsibility at Anheuser-Busch, particularly in the areas of executive management and marketing. Opportunities later presented themselves allowing Jim to become general manager of several AB beer wholesaler operations, all of which were recognized as model operations.
In 1985 Jim made a career change to the defense industry, eventually becoming a principal owner in a professional-technical services business. Jim spent three years and graduated from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Owner-President Management Program. Jim retired from business in 2000.
Mark Haddock, Secretary
Joseph Crenshaw, Immediate Past President
Joseph M. Crenshaw is President, CEO, and a founder of New Frontier Bank in St. Charles. Prior to New Frontier Joe worked with Mercantile Bank, Landmark Bank, and the US Treasury Department as a National Bank Examiner for over 30 years.
Joe is a native of Sikeston, MO where his family owned a retail store. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and the University of Colorado's Graduate School of Banking. He has lived in St. Charles since 1984 with his wife, Joan, also a founder and officer of New Frontier, and his three children.
Joe has served on the Habitat Board for several years and also serves on the Board of FISH of St. Charles County. In the past he has served on the Board of Trustees for the First United Methodist Church in St. Charles and the Academy of the Sacred Heart in St. Charles and was Treasurer for the Missouri East Conference United Methodist Men for several years.
Jim Franke
Jim Franke is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Ameristar Casino Resort Spa in St. Charles, a leading gaming, lodging and entertainment property in the state. In his top management role, Franke has responsibility for all property operations. He was promoted to his current position in 2005. Previously, Franke served as Vice President of Casino Operations at Ameristar Casino Resort Spa and was responsible for leading all casino gaming operations, including the slot and table games departments. Franke joined the St. Charles property in 2000 as Vice President of Slot Operations. When Ameristar purchased the property, he held the same position before being promoted to vice president of casino operations in 2003.
Before coming to St. Charles, Franke served as Director of Operations at Argosy's Belle of Sioux City and was employed as Director of Slot Operations at Argosy in Kansas City. He began his career in the casino industry as a Slot Technician/Slot Analyst with Alton Belle Casino in 1993.
Since his arrival at Ameristar, Franke has been instrumental in introducing coinless gaming in Missouri, led the slot department as it nearly doubled in size with the grand opening of Ameristar's new St. Charles property in 2002, and oversaw the construction and opening of the property's $265-million hotel and spa development. Franke currently resides in St. Charles, Missouri with his wife, Sheila, and two children, Kristen and Kyle.
Melissa Binsbacher
Melissa Binsbacher is the Sales and Marketing Executive for LandAmerica Commonwealth Title Insurance Company. Melissa has over 9 years in the Real Estate Industry. Her background includes over 25 years in Retail Sales. Melissa currently serves on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles, She is also the 2008-2009 President of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women. And the Committee Chair of Member Services for the St. Charles Board of Realtors. In addition she serves on the Education Committee for the Mortgage Bankers Association. Melissa received the 2008 Raising Star Award for the National Association for Professional Mortgage Women Melissa and her husband Jeffrey Binsbacher live in O'Fallon, Missouri with their three children, Brandon, Austin and Maia.
Chris Hoffman
Chris is a lifelong resident of Saint Charles, having been educated and employed in the area over the past 50 years. She is a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Saint Charles, and serves on its Mission and Outreach committee. As a member of the Saint Charles Noonday Rotary Club, Chris became a charter member of this affiliate's board of directors in 1996, and is a past president of the board. Chris has served on many of the affiliate's committees, most recently as a Family Advocate and is current chair of the Development Committee. In addition to her Habitat volunteerism, Chris is chair of the Parkside Meadows Retirement Center Foundation and secretary of the Saint Charles Rotary Club.
She is married to Wayne, loves to travel, play golf and support the St. Louis Cardinals.
Rev. Carol Meyer
Carol is currently and has been a pastor and Director of Missions at Church of the Shepherd in St. Peters, MO for 5 years. She has served as a Volunteer in Mission Team Leader with the United Methodist Church for the past 17 years, leading teams as we serve in our community, state, nation and internationally. Their purpose is to reach out the hand of Christ, as they serve those in need, in a way that makes a Christian difference. Carol has been on the Habitat Board for five years. She is married and lives in Defiance, MO. Also, she has two children and five grandchildren.
