WHO: Habitat for Humanity of St. Charles County (HHFSCC) is excited and pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Women Build. The 2011 Women Build house is sponsored by Lockton Insurance.

WHAT: We are in search of passionate women to help with the Divas Building Dreams 2011 Women's Build. This event will be extremely empowering and will help HFHFSCC provide a deserving family with a decent, safe and affordable place to live.

Women's Build Background: In 1991, a group of women in Charlotte, N.C., completed the first women-built Habitat for Humanity house. With this, the seeds for Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program were planted. A handful of Habitat for Humanity affiliates such as Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver and Atlanta Habitat for Humanity built houses with women crews over the next few years.

Lowes is a national partner with Habitat for Humanity International and is the underwriter of the Women Build program. By 2013, Lowes will have contributed $40 million to support Habitat's mission of providing affordable housing by helping make homeownership a reality for hard- working families in need. The Women Build program empowers women to build Habitat for Humanity homes, enabling them to positively impact the lives of children.

WHERE: HFHSCC recently purchased 14 fully developed lots off of Salt Lick Rd. in St. Peters, MO. The development has been named the Enclaves at Eisenhower. The development is a part of HFHSCC's 5 year, 60 home, A World of Hope, It Starts at Home capital campaign.

WHEN: HFHSCC will be hosting several special events in honor of the "Divas Building Dreams" 2011 Women's Build including: a Women's Build Groundbreaking kick-off on May 7th at 9 a.m. and opportunities for team build days. National Women's Build Week is May 2- 9, 2011, with culmination on Mother's Day. The timeline for a typical Habitat home is based on a 19 week build schedule. Interest for the build and recruitment of members will continue from now until May.

WHY: HFHSCC is committed to finding a permanent solution to the affordable housing crisis in St. Charles County. Support of women in the local community is overwhelming and a Women's Build is the perfect way to give back to a deserving family. A Women's Build will provide one more Habitat home in St. Charles County, while continuing the mission of HFHSCC. Each build also serves as an opportunity to spread Habitat's message and educate the community about the benefits of homeownership.
